Weekend ...

I don't have a lot to show for the weekend but I did watch a couple of inspiring videos. The first one here inspired me to these ...

They are tiles to be used as embellishments. The artist in the video used wooden tiles for her base ... I didn't have any, so cut up some matboard into 1" squares and used that which worked fine. My stamping was not good (mainly because I was too impatient for everything to dry thoroughly but these 4 (and 1 other) were acceptable out of the 10 I made (5 went straight in the bin!). I've covered the top left one with Glossy Accents and the others with various mediums just to see the difference. The fifth one is UTEE'd and this works as well as the glossy accents. I will definitely be making more of these.

The second video here was also very inspiring and although I don't have the Tim Holtz die I have cut by hand a strip of 'tickets' and plan to have a go ... watch this space?

Here we are again - Wednesday and a scoot through blogland to spy on all those crafty desks (well some of them anyway!). If you like to do the same visit Julia here.

My desk today is full of stuff - at the back is the completed TP roll mini album - I have been adding to my Utube tutorials on how I made this and there are 11!! with the final one to go - they are very short though - mostly about 5 mins - my camera will only film for 10 mins max. If you are interested there is a link in the sidebar.

At the front I am trying out ideas to complete fabric tags for a swap - the green is oiled paper fused to felt and I want to put flowers on it - just got to work out the best and easiest way as I have to make nine! Got to do something on the other side too - so that's 18!

Anyway thank you for looking and I will visit as many as I can over the next week.w

I was sadly lacking in inspiration over the weekend and only managed this tag ...

... because of the lacking thing I went in search of something to kick start me and found this by Eva Dobilas. I loved it - her work has great use of colour - and thought it would start me off! I ended up pretty much copying it which was not the idea - not sure why except maybe I liked it too much - anyway I wanted to change the blue heart to a metal brad in the bottom flower but couldn't get it off without tearing the paper too much so it is staying. The only positive thing is that I made all the embellishments myself, including the rosette, by hand (except the leaves which are spellbinders).
