Swaps

A couple of completed items. The first is a little art quilt made for a swap. The theme is alcohol ink and I have used metal coloured with the ink on the quilt. The background fabric is painted with Lumiere paint and stamped with Encore ink. Metal sheet is cuttlebugged. The cream square is cotton fabric and the text on it is stamped. The little heart is a chipboard piece covered with fabric that has been stitched and beaded.

The second piece is an ATC for our group swap. This is December's and the theme was 'Birds'.
All the stamps used in these pieces are from The Artistic Stamper except for the swirl under the bird which is Paperartsy

Mabel Lucie Atwell

Here's another card using one of the lovely Mabel Lucie Atwell stamps from The Artistic Stamper. The stamped image is partly coloured with markers and partly paper pieced.

I used a sketch from The Pink Elephant challenge blog. Because the patterned papers are Baisc Grey I guess this also meets the requirements for their recent colour challenge Cream, Pink and Blue

Friendly Flowers

Here is a card I made yesterday on a very beautiful New Years day here in the UK - frost and sunshine - and it looks like being the same today. The flowers are stamped, embossed and cut out. The stamp used is from The Artistic Stamper Design Essentials range - check them out - these plates of unmounted stamps are so useful. I have stitched beads in the centre of each flower to embellish.

The sentiment can be computer generated.

The colours used are from this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge

Burnt Orange

I love making ATCs. These are for a colour themed challenge - orange - definately not my favourite colour to work with! However choosing a burnt orange and toning it down further with stamping and text seems to work. All stamps used are from The Artistic Stamper. I have used a text stamp with rust ink on the coloured paper and then overstamped this with part of a flouish stamp around the edges in black. Most of the flourish stamp is used again on the bird ATC to act as a branch, again in black. The bird and the butterflies are stamped on the cards with black ink and then again on a book page. These are then cut out and paper pieced (one of my favourite techniques) over the original images. Edges are sponged with Black Soot distress ink and a few 'jewels' added to accent.
Entered for the Mixed Media Monday challenge

ATC

I have some time to blog again. This is another ATC from our swap group. The theme was texture but I couldn't do this without adding a picture focal point. This is the end result - the card has several layers to build texture. The base is painted muslin machine stitched with a zig zag to card, then a cuttlebugged layer with similar colours of acrylic paint and inks which is also machine stitiched but with a straight stitch this time. The small picture is triple embossed with UTTEE (a lovely smooth texture) and I have added some crumpled tissue to accent and give another textured layer.

Christmas Cards

I need more Christmas cards! This one uses stamps from The Artistic Stamper Mini Christmas plates 1 and 2.
