Simon Says Tag

I hope this is suitable for the Simon Says challenge - it's another photo/gift card tag ...

The front of the tag has a pocket and this is decorated with a stamped fern and stamped, cut out butterfly. The buttefly is mounted on pop dots. I have coloured the butterfly with Copic markers. The patterned papers are Prima Botanica ...

The inner tag has an envelope for a gift card and I have used the fern stamp again ...

I have included a round tag as well and there is space on this for a note and a photograph ...

I think it's spring like enough for the Three Muses challenge too ...

Tags!

Well one tag anyway but to meet two more challenges - I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment with two tags and two posts in one day!

This tag has an acrylic paint 'handmade' background. Stamps used are from Paperartsy and Oxford Impressions (see sidebar for links).

I am entering this tag in Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge (handmade backgrounds) and Hels Sheriden's Sunday Stampers Challenge (birds).

Shabby Chic Spring Tag

I was inspired to make this 4" x 6" tag by Laura Denison of Following the Paper Trail who is hosting a swap (I'm not entering the swap as couldn't be bothered to make 9!) and it gradually took on a life of its own as I decided instead to enter it into a couple of challenges and create a birthday present.

I used background papers by Prima, a Stampington Stamp, Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, Sissix die, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Tea Dye Distress Ink and flat back pearls.

The front of the tag has a pocket which holds a card with room on the back for a personal message ...

And for the back of the main tag I have made a small envelope to hold a gift card ...

I like how it turned out - the colours a bit 'softer' in real life.

The tag is entered in Mojo Monday challenge (a card pattern), The Stampman Challenge (I used recipe Fabric, Circle, Metal) and The Fashionable Stamper challenge which is Spring

WOYWW 146

Another Wednesday arrives far too quickly - so off for another round of desk hopping. Visit Julia here to follow the fun.

My desk today contains very little - the observant will notice a new storage 'thingy' in the corner - tins, pretty scrap paper and an old 'lazy susan' repurposed to hold pens, crayons and tools. It's proving handy and space saving so far, but if you want to see a beautiful version just look here - it's amazing (I didn't have the patience for this approach - just needed function!). Viola's work is just lovely and very inspiring.

There is also the start of a new mini album in a 6" x 6" format - I really am strangely addicted to these - however I am planning a lot of stamping in this one.

Alice in Wonderland

Four more ATCs for a swap with an Alice in Wonderland theme - the playing card shapes are very well 'stickled' but this doesn't show up too well on the photograph - adds a nice finishing touch though!

ATCs

Regular readers (if I have any left) will have noticed a distinct lack of crafting over the last year - life really got in the way for a while. I am gradually getting back to it though and have signed up for a couple of ATC swaps to get my mojo going! I have always loved making ATCs and if you have followed my dabbles with mini albums it's fairly obvious that creativity on a small scale is where I like to be. My previous post showed the backgrounds and here are the finished cards. Four for the swap and one to keep.

When I am making anything for a swap I almost always have a couple of extras that I 'play' with first and in this case it was the one with the Z. If you look closely there are some subtle changes to the background stamping and my first attempt used a smaller focal point stamp. I also tried the fountain pen as a cut out piece. Neither worked well. A larger stamped image was chosen. It also took a while to come up with the metal mesh behind the stamped image - I knew it needed 'something' and the light dawned as I was dropping off to sleep late last night. I have had the mesh - unused- for years - literally years!

All the stamps used - except the pen - are by Paperartsy.

WOYWW 145

It's that day again - time for a nosey round a few craft desks - if you want to get involved head on over to Stamping Ground.

My desk today has a few ATCs prepared - backgrounds made using acrylic paint, a it of distress ink and a spritz of water - there's a bit of sparkle in the mix too ...

Inky Again

Got into the craft room today and made this tag using up left over paper from Kaisercraft 'Homemade' paper pad, an old Stampington stamp that I love and some flowers made with Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die. A few buttons, ribbons and a bit of glitter finish it off.
